What is CBD

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a non-psychotropic compound found in the cannabis plant and other plants.

When administered, CBD interacts with something in our bodies called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a network of neurotransmitters which our cells use to communicate with each other.  This system is involved in regulating fertility, mood, appetite, pain, and memory.

By mimicking the endocannabinoids, CBD appears to be able to influence the immune system and some people report that it dampens pain, helps with insomnia, alleviates inflammation, convulsions, nausea, and anxiety.  It also has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Although the healing properties of cannabis and CBD have been valued for millennia, with the advancement of science we may only just have begun to understand their full potential.

At a high concentration CBD is also a primary ingredient in respected pharmaceutical medicines, for example CBD is used for controlling seizures in severe forms of epilepsy as well as to help with neuropathic pain of multiple sclerosis.  At a lower concentrations LDN CBD products focus on holistic health, well-being, performance and relaxation.
